Hull-based company, GT Electrical, has won first place in the kitchen appliances category of the Total Excellence and Quality Awards 2005. This is the third year in a row that the company has won this prestigious award, making it a hat-trick of awards. This is quite an achievement as it is the first time in this category that the first prize has gone to the same company.
The TEQ Awards are administered by Domestic & General, the UK's largest specialist provider of breakdown protection for domestic appliances, electronic equipment and gas central heating systems. The awards were established in 1998 and are widely credited as driving improved service standards throughout the repair industry.
The TEQ Awards result from the UK's largest independent survey of repair standards on domestic appliances. Domestic and General surveys customers annually on all areas of repair performance. Criteria include how politely and efficiently the initial call requesting the repair was handled and how punctual, efficient and courteous the repair engineer was whilst in their home. The company issued around 350,000 customer satisfaction questionnaires in 2004/5 and had a response rate of 40%. This survey has given Domestic & General a unique insight into the overall quality of repairer services across the UK.
GT Electrical, which covers the city of Kingston-upon-Hull and its environs, is celebrating its 3rd year of award-winning service to its customers. Proprietor, Vivienne Bell, commented:
"We are thrilled to be receiving another first place TEQ award this year. I said last year that we would like to make it three in a row, but I wasn't at all sure that we could do it. We have continued to concentrate on giving the very best service to our customers whatever the nature of their repair and type of appliance. We try to continually improve our service standards and will be going all out to win again next year."
